Act As If

The poet Ovid The Roman (43 B.C. - 18 A.D.) coined the term "Act As If" with the intention of encouraging people to make make the effort to act and answer enthusiastically--even if it feels like you're pretending. His thinking was that once you begin to do that regularly, you'll do it naturally and sincerely. It's called a "self-fulling prophecy" which is the concept that if you believe it, it is true.

A study conducted by Wake Forest University required 50 fairly shy students to be extroverted (extra friendly and social) for ONLY 15 minutes, even if they didn't feel like it. The results were amazing!

The more energetic and excited the students ACTED, the better they felt...even when pretending!

It works, but you just have to do it.

Make it a point to implement what you just learned at least once a day for the next week.
